The Cucco olive is native to the Chieti region of Italy. In the 1950s a frost devastated thousands of Cucco trees, nearly eliminating the species. Because Cucco is a difficult olive to cultivate, the trees were mostly replaced with more manageable varieties. Along with several other Abruzzese growers, Tommaso is helping with the meticulous and dedicated work of restoring the Cucco cultivar and producing an exceptional oil.
